PAGE Student Membership is for Students in a Georgia college/university who are majoring in education and are not employed in a school or Students in a Georgia high school who are enrolled in an education pathway (ECE or TAP) course. Student Membership PAGE Student Membership is for Students in Georgia college s and universities who are majoring in education and are not employed in a school or students in a Georgia high schools who are enrolled in an education pathway (ECE or TAP) course. College students may join for $15 each year. High school students may join for $5 each year. High School Students who are enrolled in an Education Pathway (ECE or TAP) are eligible to join PAGE for $5 per year. This membership provides legal and liability coverage for their field experiences with younger students and a subscription to PAGE One Magazine. The membership is good for 12 months from the date they join. High School students should enroll in PAGE through their Education Pathway teacher. Click here for more information. < RETURN TO GEORGIA ACADEMIC DECATHLON HOME Georgia Academic Decathlon GAD Fall Workshop The Fall Workshop is held annually at Kennesaw State University’s KSU Center (not on main campus). This year the workshop will be on Friday, September 4. The agenda will offer sessions on many of this year’s events related to the overall theme: Journeys of Transformation: An Exploration of Travel and Transportation. You can view a tentative agenda below. There is a fee of $20 for each decathlete while Coaches, Coordinators and other adults may attend free of charge (remember to register your bus driver and any chaperones if they need a lunch). Lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A. If anyone in your group needs something other than the regular Chick-fil-A sandwich lunch, be sure to click the dietary restriction box during the registration process. Each attendee (students and adults) must return a signed release form (links below). For quick check-in, send release forms to Michelle at gad@pageinc.org in advance. If necessary, you may bring them with you, but it greatly slows down check-in. < Back to GAD Home Georgia Academic Decathlon GAD Volunteer Information Volunteer for the 39th Annual GAD State Competition! February 21-22, 2025 Kennesaw State University Two hundred volunteers are needed to serve as proctors for Testing and Super Quiz, and as judges for Speech and Interview. Testing proctors monitor students during the event on Friday evening. Judges serve in groups of two or three for Speech and Interview presentations on Saturday morning. Super Quiz proctors monitor students during the course of the collaborative Super Quiz on Saturday afternoon. Training sessions are conducted on site prior to the competition. All events are located at Kennesaw State University. Maps to the competition site will be provided to all judges and proctors who sign up. Additional information about the events can be found by clicking the button for each event below. Schedule Friday, Feb 21, 2025 Testing Proctor Description - Testing Proctors monitor decathletes during the course of the testing event on Friday afternoon/evening. 2:30 - 8 p.m. Testing Proctor training and testing event. Dinner will be provided. Saturday morning, Feb 22, 2025 Judge & Timer Descriptions Interview judges should have strong interpersonal skills and relate well to high school students. A background or interest in interviewing would also be a desirable skill for this volunteer position. Speech judges should have good listening skills, be able to effectively assess communication, and relate well to high school students. Speech timers work in conjunction with the Speech Judges to time and record competitors’ speeches. 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Speech and Interview judges and Timers training and Speech and Interview events ( concurrent ) Saturday afternoon, Feb 22, 2025 Super Quiz Proctor Description - Super Quiz proctors monitor decathletes during the course of the Super Quiz event. 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Super Quiz proctor training, and Super Quiz event.
