Dr. Kim Foster Joins PAGE Staff as College Services Representative
PAGE welcomes Dr. Kim Foster as the lead College Services Representative. In this role, Foster establishes and maintains relationships with students pursuing education degrees, as well as the deans and professors in all the colleges of education in Georgia.
PAGE provides full membership services to all student members. These services include legal representation, advocacy, and professional learning support. PAGE also offers training in the Georgia Code of Ethics for Educators as well as guidance on career development.
Foster follows Dr. Diane Ray who retired after 18 years in the role. Foster, who brings considerable experience working with pre-college students interested in pursuing a career in education, will continue working with Cartersville City Schools as a teacher support specialist. As part of her previous work at Cartersville High School, Foster developed and taught Teaching as a Profession pathway courses and coordinated the Future Hurricane Educators group. She also planned the district’s Teacher Signing Day event. In June, Foster was awarded a Cultivating Teachers Grant from the Georgia Department of Education.
“Kim’s background and experience teaching high school students considering teaching and encouraging students to pursue a career in education is a tremendous benefit to our college services efforts,” said Executive Director Craig Harper. “In just a short time, she has made many connections with leaders and students in Georgia’s colleges of education.”
Foster said, “I am excited and honored to join the PAGE team. I am super passionate about the teaching profession, so the opportunity to work as a college services representative is such an awesome, new venture. I am eager to share my passion and enthusiasm with future educators.”
Also supporting PAGE’s college services work is Jeanie Hubbard who recently retired from Floyd County Schools where she served as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent of human resources.
“Jeanie brings excellent experience to PAGE,” said Harper. “Her knowledge of teacher preparation and recruitment is a great complement to Kim’s expertise. We are confident that this dedicated college services team will greatly contribute to the association’s efforts to expand and reinforce the state’s teacher pipeline while serving new and existing education students.”
