2022-23 Round 1 (Scrimmage) scores are posted!

The 2022-23 Round 1 scores have been posted to the State Competition page of this website. The scores were generally higher this year than they were last year. Congrats to Elite Scholars Academy for a personal best Round 1 score!


2022-23 Season Info

This year’s curriculum is The American Revolution and the New Nation. We are planning for a hybrid State Competition with Essay and the Subject Area Test events online while Super Quiz, Speech and Interview will be in person.

State Competition is moving venues! In addition to hosting the Fall Workshop, Kennesaw State University will be hosting the State Competition on Feb. 24-25! Look for more information and updated paperwork to be added to the State Competition page as we get closer.

NEW ESSAY RUBRIC! USAD has developed a new Essay rubric to assist our judges in their job of scoring our decathlete’s essays. Additionally, if you would like to participate in Essay during Round 2 but don’t have your own judges, USAD can score for $5 per essay. If you are interested, please contact the State Director ASAP.

Hundreds of volunteers are needed to facilitate the PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon State Competition at Kennesaw State University on February 24-25. We provide training and will sign off on volunteer hours. Please visit the GAD Volunteer Information page for more information and to sign up.

Congratulations to Elite Scholars Academy – The 2022 PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon State Champion!

Clayton County’s Elite Scholars Academy, coached by Jack Smith, is the 2022 PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon (GAD) State Champion. The team scored the highest points overall in Division I and II and earned the Howard Stroud Championship Trophy. It is the second time the school has captured the title. The team was invited to represent Georgia at the United States Academic Decathlon® national competition held virtually from April 20-23, 2022.

2022 USAD Nationals Results are in!

Georgia’s state champ, Elite Scholars Academy, finished 5th in their division and brought home eight National medals. The medalists are:

Natalie Jenkins: Bronze, Interview
Kayla Sheriffe: Bronze, Music and Founders Scholarship recipient – Most Improved Student

Scholastic
Brian Barnett: Bronze, Interview
Malcolm Shabazz: Bronze, Economics and Bronze, Mathematics

Honor
Oluwafeyisayo Romiluyi: Bronze, Music and GOLD, Speech
Victoria Popoola: Silver, Interview

Georgia’s Division IV rep, Model High School, also earned  2 National medals.

Honor
Quillen Lynn: Bronze, Essay
Walker Gallman: Silver, Essay

Villa Rica High School Varsity student, Halen Harper, earned a Bronze for Science in the Large School Online competition.
Columbus High School Honor student, Owen Steele, earned Bronze medals for both Science and Social Science in the Medium School Online competition.
Two of Davidson Fine Arts Magnet Honor students earned medals in the Small School Online competition. Song Ting Tang earned a Bronze in Economics and Andrew McMahon earned a Silver in Social Science.
