    Q:  What is the GACE?
A:  The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® are tests designed to assess the knowledge and skills of prospective Georgia educators.

Q:  When do I take the GACE exam?
A:  There are different GACE exams.  The GACE Program Admission exam is designed to be taken before you begin teacher preparation; the GACE Content Assessments are designed to be taken when you are nearing the completion of your teacher preparation program.  Click here to see an overview of the various GACE exams on the GACE website.

Q:  How will I know which exam(s) to take?
A:  The Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) is the state agency that licenses teachers in Georgia.  They determine what exam(s) prospective educators must take.  Your college advisor may be able to tell you which exams you are required to take, but ultimately, it is the GaPSC—not your college—that determines this. Click here to see a listing of all GACE exams on the official GACE website.  You may also want to check with your college/university advisor for any additional requirements that your college may have. Click here for more information on required testing on the GaPSC website.

Q:  What will be on the test?
A:  All GACE assessments are aligned with the state standards for the P-12 curriculum and with state and national content standards.  The best resource for learning what will be on the specific GACE exam you're preparing for is the"Test Preparation Resources" section of the GACE website.

Q:  Can I purchase the study materials without attending the workshop?
A:  PAGE does not have access to GACE study materials nor do we earn any kind of fee from their sale.  PAGE strongly recommends that you fully utilize the test preparation resources offered on the GACE website.  Study materials utilized in our workshops are available for purchase from the ARS website

Q:  Are there additional materials that can be purchased online?
A:  PAGE does not sell any study materials for the GACE exams. There are a number of study guides available for purchase via online bookstores; however, be advised that some are actually study guides developed for other teacher certification exams and simply re-packaged as GACE study guides. In our research we found one "GACE" study guide which was written before the GACE exams were ever developed.  PAGE strongly recommends that you fully utilize the test preparation resources offered on the GACE website.

Q:  Will the GACE workshop help me?
A:  The Program Admission workshop is a thorough review of Reading, Writing and Mathematics.  While no workshop can guarantee that you will pass, the Program Admission workshop will review the skills that will be tested on the exam.
The Content workshop is a study strategies workshop and will not address any one subject area specifically.  It is designed to improve participants' understanding of and competency in the principles tested on each GACE Content Assessment.  Participants will divide into subject-specific review sections following the general presentation.  Participants will also develop a personalized study plan, identify appropriate preparation materials, test-taking strategies, time management skills and anxiety strategies.
Please note:  Participants do not leave the Content workshop ready to take their exams; rather, they leave understanding how to prepare.  Therefore, it is important to allow ample preparation time between your workshop date and your exam date.

    Q:  Are snacks/dinner provided?
A:  No. Snacks/dinner are not provided.

Q:  I have registered to attend a workshop, but now I can't go.  Should I cancel my registration?
A:  Yes, please cancel as soon as possible so that we may release your seat to someone on our waiting list.  Email your cancellation to maryruth@pageinc.org.  Please be sure to include the date and location of the workshop in your email.  Also, you may call Academic Resource Services (ARS) at 770-679-0059 to request a refund or arrange to have your workbook mailed to you.
