Another PAGE Member Chosen as NASSP Principal of the Year

Dr. Mark D. Wilson, Principal of Morgan County High School and PAGE member, has been chosen as NASSP PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR. The award is presented annually by NASSP and Met Life. Georgia is fortunate to have back-to-back Principals of the Year with Dr. Molly Howard, Principal of Jefferson County High School as the 2008 winner. The award was presented by Dr. Larry Bradley, NASSP President, at an assembly at Morgan County High School on Thursday, August 28. A large number of friends and state dignitaries were present for the presentation which came as a surprise to Mark. Representing GASSP were President Tracie Fleming, President-elect Jim Arnold, Secretary Treasurer Alan Long, Executive Director Melton Callahan, Past Presidents Pat Blenke and Jimmy Stokes, and 2008 NASSP Principal of the Year Molly Howard, who is also a PAGE member.
Wilson was quick to offer praise for the support of his family, his student body, and his teachers. In a gesture of sincere humility, Mark proclaimed that the award was for his school, faculty, and community and named them America's best high school. Dr. Wilson will participate in the NASSP Principal of the Year convocation honoring all state principals of the year in October in Washington, DC.
