Liability Insurance / Legal Protection Plan
PAGE offers the best legal protection and professional liability insurance available. Each year hundreds of PAGE members benefit from successful resolution of their legal situations, because PAGE’s legal advice and attorneys are just a toll-free telephone call away.
PAGE works in a positive, professional and confidential manner on legal issues, without fanfare or publicity. Our members themselves ask that we not create any undue publicity that can further damage their case or their reputations. Because we believe that this is the best way to resolve sensitive legal matters involving our members, you don’t often read about PAGE members’ legal problems in the newspaper – but we are there supporting our members nonetheless.
General Description of Coverage
(coverage will vary depending on membership category- see below for specific coverage according to Membership Categories)
Our professional liability insurance coverage protects you from lawsuits filed by parents or students with coverage limits of $1,000,000 per insured and $3,000,000 per occurrence. (For a copy of the policy including exclusions, please contact us.) This is the protection you need most as you interact daily with your students. PAGE stands with you as you go about your required duties each day in an increasingly litigious world.
In the unlikely event that you are charged with a crime, in relation to your duties as an educator, the PAGE Legal Protection Plan provides for the payment of attorney fees, win or lose up to $10,000 per member per claim, with an annual aggregate maximum of $20,000. In addition, there is coverage under our liability insurance of up to $5,000 for reimbursement of bail bond premium.
In employment actions such as termination, demotion, salary, or resignation; and in certification cases, the PAGE Legal Protection Plan is also provided. Immediate and comprehensive legal consultation is provided to you free of charge. A PAGE attorney will review all of the particulars of your situation at no cost to you. If your rights have been violated or the relevant education law has been broken, the policy will pay up to $10,000 in legal fees to resolve the matter.
Finally, PAGE has a new Assault Related Personal Property Damage Endorsement on the liability insurance policy which insures members up to $2,500 per assault for damage or destruction of the insured’s personal property, provided the damage is caused by an assault upon the insured on or surrounding the school property or while away on an authorized school activity.

Important Note for Bus Drivers- PAGE does not represent bus drivers in traffic court. In cases involving the operation of a motor vehicle, bus drivers are covered by the school system’s fleet insurance policy. For professional liability policies, the standard insurance industry policy exclusions include operation of a motor vehicle. This exclusion is referenced in the PAGE policy and all other association policies. PAGE will, however, provide certain supplemental legal services to bus drivers in cases involving operation of a motor vehicle. For example, in accident cases resulting in death or serious injury, PAGE can assign an attorney to monitor the insurance and/or legal proceedings to provide ongoing oversight and communication to the member.
