TRS COLA Changes Proposal Fails

Wednesday, November 19, 2008 - Atlanta - At today's meeting of the TRS Board of Trustees, PAGE General Counsel Jill Hay was the first speaker to address the group. (Her statement was sent out in yesterday's Listserv.  See Listserve archives for more)

Following Ms. Hay's remarks were presentations by other groups.

At the conclusion of the presentations the TRS board voted unanimously (10-0) to retain the current language regarding cost of living increases.

Retirees will continue to receive a 1.5% COLA twice each year.
